I didn't come to Savannah Lakes Village; you might even say that my late husband was instrumental in bringing Savannah Lakes Village to me. S.F. Sherard, Jr. was on the board that brought Cooper Communities to McCormick, SC, so it was a natural and comfortable path for us to become a part of the village, first as sales representatives with the new development, and then as Resale Brokers from 1991 to 2001. I am now working with my son, Michael, as an assistant in sales. I was an associate with our family business, S.F. Sherard and Sons a retail agriculture business. We also ranched registered Charlais cattle and Quarter horses. I have served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Calhoun Falls Rescue Squad where I was also an EMT. I have also served as State President of the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of South Carolina, which is the largest patriotic women's organization in the world. As I have alluded to, I am a long time resident of Abbeville County, but my husband's ancestors, the French Huguenots, settled in McCormick County right where Savannah Lakes Village is now located. So, our roots are deeply centered here. What I love about Savannah Lakes Village is the diversity that each new resident brings and how quickly they become a part of the community through their involvement in the activities and organizations within the village as well as the surrounding area. Savannah Lakes Village is a model development.  |
